......ist wohl ein
sehr seltener Schein,
habe
noch nichts darüber gefunden, vielleicht kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?
Oder
vielleicht den Text auf der Rückseite
übersetzen?
Habe
mittlerweile doch was gefunden über diesen "Propaganda-Schein":
Germany produced three
1 Pound notes photographically for North Africa with different Arabic messages on the reverse. These were air dropped November and December of 1942.
* "To our brother, the Moslem"
* "Muslims of North Africa"
* "Sign of Decline / if you inspect this note you will recall the time it was worth ten times its present value in bright shiny gold" Toy & Meyer's "World War II Axis Military Currency" mentions this note and translates it "The value of the British pound will be less and less and soon England will not be no more; and even the beggars will not accept the British Pound as a gift."
Later in 1943, Germany again used 1 Pound note images on the front and back of a propaganda book and dropped these over Yugoslavia. The back shows a map of Sicily and the lower section of Italy. There is a hand pointing at the Allied bases in this area.
